Full text of Aisha Buhari's interview with BBC Hausa
Below is the full text from Aisha Buhari's controversial interview with BBC Hausa Service.
BBC Hausa: It has been One and a half years since President Muhammadu Buhari came into power, a lot of people are expressing their unhappiness over the way few acquaintance of the President have hijacked power while neglecting people that work for his success. Like we have promised, here is how the interview with Aisha Buhari and Naziru Maka’ilu from Abuja goes.BBC Hausa: People have goodwill towards President Muhammadu Buhari, especially looking at the things he did before, but since coming into power things have not been working the way they should, what do you thing is the cause?
Aisha
Buhari: I am not a government official, but in my opinion as a woman, a
mother, what I think is it is well known that the first 4 years are not
going to be easy. Firstly, it was people that brought the government
into power. More than half of those people are not appointed into the
government. Some people that are not politicians, not professionals were
brought into the government. They don’t even know what we said we want
and what we don’t during the campaign. They even come out and say to
people we are not politicians, but they are occupying the offices meant
for politicians. Some have parted with their wives, some lost their
children lost, some women too have parted with their husbands because of
politics, a lot happened during the time. The way things are going I
too I am not happy. We are just starting, we have not finished. Some
people that worked for the government have been appointed. But those
heading government agencies you can find one fighting his state
governor, they contested together during election one in APC while in
PDP.
BBC Hausa: Who are those doing these kinds of things?
Aisha
Buhari: Everybody knows them. Those people should know that people
voted singly. Even Buhari too had one vote. Nobody voted 5 times.
15.429 Million People. That one that people are thinking too, he had
only some 2 or 3 people. I am pleading to them to have the people at
heart and embrace everybody so that we can all move together. Not even
now in 2016 or 17, lot of people are creating divisions within the APC,
which is our source of concern. They think they have worked for the
government while those appointed some of them had no voter’s card. What I
fear is uprising of 15.4 million people.
BBC Hausa: Is the President aware some people are subverting his government?
Aisha Buhari: Whether he knows or he do not, those that voted for him knows.
BBC Hausa: But you are the most closest to him, did you tell him?
Aisha
Buhari: There is nothing I can tell him, he is seeing things himself.
Out of the people he has appointed, take 50, 45 of them I don’t know
them. Perhaps he doesn’t know them too. I have been living with him for
27 years.
BBC Hausa: Do you think there are some people that are dictating to the President things to do, not him?
Aisha
Buhari: That is what I am saying, those that know they don’t have
voters card, they should give chance to those that have, they are the
ones that struggled and knows what we want to do. Some of them if you go
to a meeting with them they will tell you, we are not politicians, if
somebody is wise, they will not accept to take any political office.
They didn’t even work for it. Even if you are asked to, you should say
it is not my profession. Those places not headed by politicians will
cause people discontent.
BBC
Hausa: One would wonder to hear you say some people have hijacked the
government without him knowing, but who do you think are those people?
Aisha Buhari: I don’t know them, I don’t know them. I don’t know them
BBC Hausa: But some people are calling names, saying 2 or 3 are the ones, do you that as well?
Aisha
Buhari: Yes I agree. Because of those appointed apart from Fashola,
Ameachi and some others, not much, I don’t know them, most of us too
don’t know them, and he too does not know them
BBC
Hausa: One would wonder that Buhari is not the one charge knowing him
as a person who had leadership experiences, people would not believe
Aisha
Buhari: Yes it is surprising; nobody thought it is going to be like
this. But now that it is so…sometimes when one is doing something wrong
without him knowing, but when people talk to them, they should listen.
Because in the future, whether he is going to contest or not, it is that
same people that would vote for APC. We hope those people don’t come
back, and everybody don’t hope so too
BBC
Hausa: You said “Whether he is going to contest in the future or not”,
has he disclose it to you whether he is standing or not?
Aisha Buhari: He didn’t tell me, but I have made up my mind.

T.I. Protests Police Brutality in 'Black Man' Video With Quavo, Meek Mill & Rara: Watch
After releasing his politically charged Us or Else EP on Friday (Sept. 23), T.I. continues to rally for justice with the black-and-white visual for "Black Man" featuring Migos' Quavo, Rara and Meek Mill.
"Black man, drop top/ There go the cops," sings Quavo on the hook before asking, "Is it because of my people?/ Is it because of my sneakers?/ Is it because of my jersey?/ It is because that I'm perfect?"
Each rapper shares their personal experiences and emotions tied to the numerous cases of police brutality happening across America. As Quavo recalls getting pulled over, Rara name-drops Mike Brown whose life was taken after a police shooting in Ferguson, Missouri, and Meek Mill offers, "We seen too many brothers get put in caskets."

Tip saves his verse for last, putting his hands up and rhyming, "Police see I got my hands up/ Still wanna kill me, they don't understand us/ They be looking for a reason just to shoot me/ And wanna do me how they do us in the movies." He also shared the video on his Twitter account, adding the hashtag "#TerenceCrutcher," paying tribute to the unarmed Black man who was fatally shot by a police officer in Tulsa, Oklahoma, earlier this week.

Rapper Travis Scott reportedly blasts Rihanna for cheating on him with Drake
According to a report on MediaTakeOut, rapper Travis Scott yesterday
blasted Rihanna on his Apple Music radio show, claiming she cheated with
Drake. Read the report below from MTO...
Travis and Rihanna were dating for about a year – until this summer, when he believes that she started cheating on him with Drake. Travis gave a really butt hurt emotional interview this morning on Apple Music’s radio show, where he said the following.

– Travis said that he hated opening for Rihanna on the ANTi Tour.
– Travis confirmed Rihanna and him were dating exclusively, yet she’d bring Drake on stage and grind against him at multiple shows. He stops short of saying that Rihanna was sleeping with both he and Drake at the same time – but he DEFINITELY implies it.
– Travis claims that Rihanna refused to do any features on his new album. He decided find a female singer that “sounds just like her” for the track “Lose”
So far NO WORD from either Drake or Rihanna.

Drake Says He's Been 'In Love' with Rihanna Since He Was 22
Drake ran into some traffic on the way to the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night, but he made it to the ceremony in time to give Rihanna the VMAs Video Vanguard Award.
Walking on stage after Rihanna performed for the final time of the night, Drake -- dressed in a tuxedo -- praised the singer for never changing, and said he had been "in love" with her since he was 22 years old.
"The first time I met Robyn Fenty [Rihanna's real name] was in 2005," Drake said. "She was shooting a music video at a restaurant called Avocado in Toronto. The song was 'Pon de Replay' and the director was Little X. I was introduced to her... It's hard to believe that 11 years later we'd come together to create the visual for a song called 'Work.' Today the world knows X as Director X... 11 years later, they still know Rihanna as the one and only Rihanna."
Calling her captivating, Drake touted Rihanna's "untouchable" level of performance and style, adding, "She succeeds by doing something which no one in this industry does, which is be herself."
"She's someone I've been in love with since I was 22 years old," Drake said. "She's one of my best friends in the world. All my adult life i've looked up to her even though she's younger than me."
In accepting the award, Rihanna thanked MTV for the honor, and said her success is "not my own."
"It's my family's, it's my fans, it's my country's, it's the Caribbean as a whole, it's women, it's black women... so many people feel like their little piece is such a major part of this puzzle and i have to thank you guys for supporting me over and over," she said. Rihanna thanked her host of collaborators over the years, and also Drake.
"Thank you, Drake, for that," she said. "Thank you MTV. I had so much fun!"

Country Newcomer Kane Brown Talks New Single,Touring with Florida Georgia Line
RCA recording artist Kane Brown spent most of his childhood on the move. The singer, who has just released a new single, “Thunder In The Rain,” says that family economics dictated those moves.
“Growing up, we really didn’t have a lot of money,” he recalled to Billboard. “It was hard finding places to stay, and a lot of time my friends would take me in, and I would just go to that high school. I went to a lot of elementary schools growing up, maybe as many as I did high schools.”
Once he hit his high school years, however, he became a “Trojan,” as a member of Soddy Daisy High School in Tennessee. He said he has plenty of memories of life on the football field – including his first play from scrimmage.
“In the first game I ever played in high school, I had a pick-six for a touchdown,” he recalled with a laugh. “That was a fun memory.” When asked about his favorite teams, he mentioned the Carolina Panthers in the NFL and Georgia and Kansas State on a collegiate level.
His school path took him to Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe High School, located just over the state line in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia. It was there he would share the choir stage with Lauren Alaina, another rising talent with stars in her eyes. Brown says he knew the future American Idol star was going far.
“We were friends before we were in choir. I used to date her best friend. Then, we had choir together," he said. "We always hung out, and talked about doing a duet together in choir, but we never thought we’d be doing this. I had a feeling that Lauren would because she would sing all the time – even if she was in the car, she’d sing over the radio. You’d have to tell her to shut up,” he added with a laugh.
In 2014, Brown began to post video clips of himself performing hits from Brantley Gilbert, Alan Jackson, and Billy Currington. His video of George Strait’s “Check Yes Or No” netted over seven million views. The attention he received prompted him to push for a career as a musician. “I guess I knew I wanted to pursue it after my first couple of videos went viral. I started seeing all the likes and the shares. As well as the reactions, and I started to think ‘Maybe, I could actually do this for a job.’ I was working my butt off at both Fed Ex and Target, and only making $7.25 [an hour]. I knew I couldn’t do this. So, I decided I was going to try the music thing, and run with it, and hopefully, I can make it,” he said humbly.
He said learning the viral game has been an education, but one that he has enjoyed immensely. “I honestly got lucky with people starting to like the first video, when it went viral, and people started following me. I just kept posting, and really was just trying to keep people’s interest," he said.
The strategy of promoting himself on Facebook was more complicated than he imagined. “Instead of getting people to like stuff, what you really want to do is get them to share it. It creates a lot more followers," he said. "On my posts, I would tell people ‘If you like this, give it a share.’ If you go online and look at my videos, you might see where I have 80,000 likes, but 525,000 shares. That’s where you gain more people as followers coming in. It took me a second to learn it all, but now that I have, it’s been a blessing and a curse.
Brown’s fans helped the singer record a six-song EP entitled Closer, which he released last summer. Without any major radio airplay, the project landed in the Top 30 of the Billboard Country Albums chart. In turn, Randy Goodman and Sony Music Nashville were impressed, offering Brown a contract in early 2016. His first release for the label is Chapter 1. When asked how it feels to be on the same label as acts like Waylon Jennings, Kenny Chesney and Keith Whitley, the newcomer didn’t miss a beat. “It feels awesome. I was singing in my bathroom, and thought that was as far as I was going to get. To be called by a major label, I thought they were pranking me,” he said sheepishly.
The singer is wrapping up a run with Florida Georgia Line before he begins headlining his own Ain’t No Stopping Us Now tour, scheduled to beginning in November. “I’m super excited, partly because I’ve got Jordan Rager out with me, and I feel like he’s going to bring some fans out, too. I feel like it’s going to be really fun. I’m also looking forward to getting to add a lot of the songs off of the album into the concert rotation, so it should be a blast.”
What has he learned from FGL's Brian and Tyler on the “Dig Your Roots” tour? He says a lot. “I’m really learning how to work the crowd, and talk to them, tell them stories between songs," he said. "I’m also learning to play to the back of the crowd in arenas. When you do that, you’ve got to remember to play for those that are at our back instead of just at your feet. The people at the back are sometimes your biggest fans, they just might not have the money to be up front. They’ve also taught me how to stay humble, because of them bring humble guys. Between them, the Cadillac Three, and Cole Swindell, it’s all been an awesome experience.”
Brown hopes fans will gravitate toward the new single, saying, “I found the line in a magazine, and thought it was a really cool title. I took it in, and we started brainstorming. I came up with the idea to just talk about two unstoppable forces in a relationship, and how nothing would come between them.”
The singer said he's trying to grow as an artist all the way around – including as a songwriter. “It’s been neat to find out different writing strategies,” he said. I’ve been in the room with so many different writers. Sometimes, you write with tracks, and other times, with acoustic guitars. That’s been really a cool thing, because it brings out different lyrics with you. I know that sounds weird, but it brings out different emotions, and you have all the different writers.”
He's still proud of his early efforts, because back it was all for the love of the music – before sold-out tours and EP’s. “It’s been a lot of fun, because before I was just writing with my friends," he said. "None of us had a publishing deal. We just all wanted to write. That’s been a huge difference for me in the whole writing process.”
