‘There Are Major Collaborations On My Album, But It Won’t Be Dropping This Year’ – Davido

  Singer Davido, who recently dropped a new song, ‘Gbagbe Oshi’ two days ago following an eleven months music drought, has opened up on his reasons for the hiatus.
The Sony Music act, in an interview with Thenet.ng, not only spoke about his Sony music deal, he also put to rest rumors about the label behind his delayed comeback.

Let’s talk about the Sony deal; Do you think you signed the deal at the right time?

 I won’t say I signed it at the wrong time, I signed it at the right time actually.

So why did it take you 11 months to drop a song?

 Adele takes 5 years, there are people who take break for 2 years, but here we are used to dropping songs every 3 months, it got to a point I knew I just had to find myself again.

So do you blame yourself or Sony for the 11-month drought?

 Don’t forget during this 1-months period, I did feature on over 24 songs. And it would have been different if I was dropping songs and they didn’t pop.

At the beginning of this year,m my focus was to pop out international collaborations but then things change and regardless I kept on recording and making new sounds

And as at August, they gave me a date and we planned to drop the record with Tinashe but then I was like why don’t you let me do my own African thing and drop the Tinashe record afterwards.

Tell us about your new song ‘Gbagbe Oshi’

 Gbagbe oshi was one of the songs that was supposed to be on the album, we recorded it last year.

And when  they (Sony) heard it, they really liked it. I like it too, I love the drive.

After the EP, when is the main album dropping?

 I can’t say for now, but not this year.

It shouldn’t be more than 11 songs on the album. They’ll be about 5 major collaborations on it and for now there’s no working title for the album.

What would Herdsmen be doing with these Weapons

In continuation with the operations against livestock rustlers, armed bandits and kidnappers within its area of operations, troops of 1 Division Nigerian Army, have conducted clearance operations within Kaduna and Katsina States.

In Katsina State, the troops carried out joint patrol at Nashambe village near Karoki in which 2 suspected livestock rustlers, Mallam Lawali Nakaduna and Yahuza Suleiman were arrested in Jibia Local Government Area and handed over to the Nigeria Police.

The troops also arrested a notorious livestock rustler and armed bandit, Gide Maikwasara, who was shot while attempting to escape. The troops recovered several empty cases of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition, 2 Dane guns, 1 cutlass, a knife and local charms. In Jajaiye village, Shinfida District, Jibia Local Government Area, troops arrested 3 suspected collaborators; Alhaji Muhammadu Jammu, Sani Jammu and Garba Bammi, while others fled deep into the forest.

The troops also recovered 1 locally made Dane gun, 1 Cutlass, 1 Sword, an Axe and Arrows. They also recovered 137 rustled goats and 157 sheep. The suspects and the recovered animals have been handed over to the Nigeria Police in Jibia.
The troops have embarked on aggressive patrols of bandits prone Local Government Areas of the State such as Dandume, Jibia, Kankara, Sabuwa and Safana.

 

In Anchau and Kubau Local Government Areas of Kaduna State, it was discovered that the some of the local vigilante collaborate and supply information to the armed bandits. One of the arrested suspected collaborator and informant, Musa Magabe stated that he supply information to the bandits on troops and security agents movement and often points residence of uncompromising vigilantes and leaders for elimination. He further stated that he pass information to armed bandits in Falgore forest.

The suspect is further being investigated and efforts are on to prevent such through proper screening of local vigilante.

Selfies 'should be banned in London public places' says shock survey

Selfie-loving celebrities like Rihanna, David Beckham and Beyonce are in for a shock after a study revealed two-thirds of young Londoners believe the snaps should be banned in public.
In a poll of 2,000 18 to 24-year-olds, 68 per cent said they had grown sick of “annoying” and “vain” people constantly photographing themselves.
There are growing calls for the capital to extend controls which have already seen the O2 Academy in Brixton, Wimbledon, Wembley and Arsenal’s Emirates stadium clamp down on the trend, now considered more annoying than people stealing sunbeds abroad.
 A further 42 per cent admitted to “defriending” people on social media because of the number of selfies they post on holiday, while 37 per cent said they spend at least five minutes a day taking them.

That totals to more than 30 hours a year taking selfies – and 15 per cent of those people also admitted to wearing a full face of make-up on the beach to prepare for any unexpected snaps.
However, it’s not just tourists and Londoners taking the front-facing photographs. In fact, stars including Lily Allen, Niall Horan and Cara Delevingne often share pictures of themselves on television shows and public transport.
Superstar Beyonce also loves to post a snap of herself backstage – which is bound to upset the 84 per cent of people who claimed to dislike selfies.

The figures sparked a campaign by mobile provider, Three, who claim to be aiming to stop tourists taking ‘selfies’ and instead start taking ‘fronties’ – by turning the lens on the outside world.

The campaign was created to celebrate the addition of 24 new destinations to Three’s ‘Feel at Home’ service – which allows people to use their phones abroad without any extra cost from September.
Three spokesman Tom Malleschitz said: “We hope that in line with the feedback from the great British public, people start turning the camera around and taking fronties instead of selfies.”
