 Drake's 30th birthday must have been some party, because he's still sharing photos from the bash weeks later.A slew of stars showed up to celebrate the rapper's monumental birthday on Oct. 23 at Delilah in West Hollywood, including Taylor Swift, her frenemy Katy Perry and John Mayer, who dated both ladies in the past.Swift's mere appearance at the party seemed to ignite rumors that a romance was brewing between herself and Drake, and on Thursday, he further fueled the speculation by sharing a photo of the two at the private event.
 The Instagram image, taken of the stars from behind, shows Drake standing next to Swift, who's wearing a sexy black crop top and matching pencil skirt. "Is that velvet?" the caption reads, referring to the rapper's blazer.
 Other guests at the party included Jamie Foxx, French Montana, Shay Mitchell, Zoe Kravitz, and Drake's dad, Dennis Graham. Rihanna, who split from Drake just weeks before his birthday, was noticeably absent from the event, as well as Swift's musician ex, Calvin Harris.

An insider told E! News, "Rihanna and Drake are seeing other people at the moment. They are not exclusive anymore. They still love each other, but their schedules have gotten in the way."
Another source told us they were never officially exclusive in the first place. "Everyone wants them to be together, but they are just close friends who are always in each others lives," the insider explained.

Their Schedules: First and foremost, one of the biggest causes of separation for any celebrity couple is their busy schedules. While Drake seems to be endlessly putting out music and going on back-to-back tours, Rihanna is just as busy splitting time between her music and her fashion collection. Finding free time for a relationship among all of that seems a little daunting, and it's been the cause of their split a couple times in the past, too.
Location: Other than their schedules, the fact that Rih and Drizzy live on opposite sides of the country can't be easy either. Drake currently lives in Calabasas, Calif., and while Rihanna previously lived nearby, she moved her permanent location to New York City in 2013.

Other People: When Drake and Rih first met in 2009, the singer had recently broken up with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown. However, it wasn't officially over between the two as she ended up rekindling with him in 2013. But even when she and Drake seemed to re-spark the flame after her romance with Brown fizzled a year later, they still didn't work, both having been connected to several other people in between their on-again, off-again moments.
While Drake has been connected to the likes of Serena Williams and India Love, Rihanna had rumors swirling with Matt Kemp and Travis Scott.

It's One-Sided: There's no denying that Rihanna has been the one to pull back from Drake. In fact, in August, an insider close to the pair told us, "Rihanna loves Drake, but is still not ready to put a title on them."
The source explained, "Drake would make her his girlfriend in a second if he could. It's more on Rihanna, though. They both care about each other and are having a good time spending time with each other. Drake has expressed to Rihanna that he only wants to date her and only her, but she wants to take day by day this time around."

This has been a recurring theme for the couple, as Drake declared the same sentiment to The New York Times in June 2010. "I was a pawn," he said in characterizing what happened with Rihanna after their initial split. "You know what she was doing to me? She was doing exactly what I've done to so many women throughout my life, which is show them quality time, then disappear. I was like, 'Wow, this feels terrible.'"

Drake Says He's Been 'In Love' with Rihanna Since He Was 22

Drake ran into some traffic on the way to the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night, but he made it to the ceremony in time to give Rihanna the VMAs Video Vanguard Award.
Walking on stage after Rihanna performed for the final time of the night, Drake -- dressed in a tuxedo -- praised the singer for never changing, and said he had been "in love" with her since he was 22 years old.
"The first time I met Robyn Fenty [Rihanna's real name] was in 2005," Drake said. "She was shooting a music video at a restaurant called Avocado in Toronto. The song was 'Pon de Replay' and the director was Little X. I was introduced to her... It's hard to believe that 11 years later we'd come together to create the visual for a song called 'Work.' Today the world knows X as Director X... 11 years later, they still know Rihanna as the one and only Rihanna."
Calling her captivating, Drake touted Rihanna's "untouchable" level of performance and style, adding, "She succeeds by doing something which no one in this industry does, which is be herself."
"She's someone I've been in love with since I was 22 years old," Drake said. "She's one of my best friends in the world. All my adult life i've looked up to her even though she's younger than me." 
In accepting the award, Rihanna thanked MTV for the honor, and said her success is "not my own."
"It's my family's, it's my fans, it's my country's, it's the Caribbean as a whole, it's women, it's black women... so many people feel like their little piece is such a major part of this puzzle and i have to thank you guys for supporting me over and over," she said. Rihanna thanked her host of collaborators over the years, and also Drake.
"Thank you, Drake, for that," she said. "Thank you MTV. I had so much fun!"
