Nicki Minaj Discusses Women Being Entrepreneurs and Her Admiration for Jay Z in 'Marie Claire' Cover Story
Hip-hop's reigning queen Nicki Minaj has built her empire from the streets of Jamaica, Queens up to the No. 6 spot on Forbes' 2016 Hip-Hop Cash Kings list. Her evolution from street mixtape rhymer to pop powerhouse with "Anaconda," which hit No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100, has solidified her rank among her male counterparts. In her November cover shoot for Marie Claire, the Queens native is all about women's empowerment, and confesses her admiration for Jay Z's hustle.
Nicki Minaj has always encouraged women to be be their own boss, and have a sense of independence, instead of looking for cop-outs like "marrying into money". "I don't want that to be a woman's goal in life. I want your goal in life to be to become an entrepreneur, a rich woman, a career-driven woman," she tells Marie Claire. While she gained prominence with Lil Wayne's co-sign and residency on his Young Money imprint, Minaj has flourished in the male-dominated hip-hop industry, often calling out the industry for its unfair treatment towards women and biased beauty standards.
Minaj has also pocketed a few collaborations with Beyonce, like the "Flawless (Remix)" and "Feeling Myself" off Nicki's 2014 LP The Pinkprint, and says she feels "inspired" when the two artists work together. "Every time Bey and I do something together, I see how women are inspired, and it has nothing to do with how we look," the "Super Bass" MC explains. "It has to do with how we are owning who we are, and telling other women you should be the boss of your own career and the brains behind your life or your decisions or your art. I just love that feeling."
Though she seeks the same opportunities her fellow rappers have, she's found a way to look past the industry's faults in order to build her empire, and has modeled her career after one of hip-hop's true moguls: Jay Z. "He did such a great job being an authentic street guy and a businessman, and I was like, 'Why aren't there women doing that, taking the success from rap and channeling it into their empire?'" she confesses about the Brooklyn-bred lyricist. "I felt like anything he could do, I could do."

The Game Apologizes For Dragging Nicki Minaj Into Meek Mill Beef
New York, NY – The Game admits that mentioning Nicki Minaj’s name in his brutal diss track “92 Bars”
aimed at her boyfriend Meek Mill and his scandalous photoshopped
picture of the two was in poor taste but he didn’t mean any disrespect.
“Nicki should just stay out of it,” The Game told The Breakfast Club earlier today, Friday (September 23). “She’s in her lane. She’s doing her thing, she’s an amazing artist. I’ve got love and respect for her. I’m sorry I had to drag her into this, and it was a minimal drag, but she wasn’t disrespected at all I went and I did what I had to do. It looked like a photo shoot or a video shoot, it don’t look like us in a hotel room.”
At the height of the beef, The Game posted a still from Nicki’s 2014 video “Pills & Potions” that gave off the impression he and Nicki were an item as he had her arms wrapped around his muscular arms.
He also offered up his dickprint to size up The Pinkprint rapper in the song.
“Nicki won’t get no sleep, I’m coming through at 4 a.m,” he raps in one verse, while boldly spitting “And I’ve been wanting to give Nicki this pool stick,” in another.
Chuck went on to be clear there was no intended malice because who doesn’t want to smash Nicki Minaj?

Ariana Grande Releases Video for ‘Side to Side’ ft. Nicki Minaj
The new Ariana Grande ‘Side to Side’ video features Nicki Minaj. Find out what the song is about and watch the song come to life below.
Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj teamed up again for “Side to Side” and performed the new song last Sunday at the 2016 MTV VMAs.The official video released on GUESS.com after the performance. Ariana sported the store’s new athletic line in the video. According to the Republic Records press release, the song is part of their partnership with GUESS called GUESS Music.
The video takes place inside a gym warehouse. Ariana and other female dancers ride exercise bicycles and dance in the locker room.
When Nicki Minaj raps her verse, they are in the sauna surrounded by men. However, the guys look as if they are mannequins.
The chorus starts with:
“I’ve been here all night. I’ve been here all day. And boy, you got me walking side to side.”
Yes, you probably guessed correct. This song has sexual references. She said the lyric about “riding leading to soreness. Ride d**k bicycle’ is the lyric, indeed” (via MTV).
She lets Nicki Minaj say that line in her verse. In addition, Nicki’s verse also includes:
“Body smoking, so they call me young Nicki chimney. Rappers in they feelings cause they feelin’ me.”To end her verse, she raps:
“I’m the queen of rap, young Ariana run pop.”
Meek Mill Jokes About Getting Nicki Minaj Pregnant
OMG! Is Nicki Minaj really pregnant?! Well, that seems to be the question on everyone’s mind! After Meek Mill posted a cryptic photo of his seemingly preggo GF, fans took to Twitter to join the debate on whether the rumors were true. See their reactions here!
What in the world is going on?! The Internet went into a frenzy on Sept. 3, trying to confirm whether or not Nicki Minaj, 33, is really pregnant with Meek Mill’s, 28, baby. “Someone please explain I’m getting two different possibilities but I need confirmation,” one fan posted on Twitter.
“You two what’s going on,” another fan asked with the eye emojis. “Meek Mill Got Nicki Minaj Pregnant!? That’s One Smart Man lol Whether They’re Together Or Not HE STRAIGHT lol.” But while some of Nicki’s Barbies declared her to really have a bun in the oven some of her other fans weren’t as convinced. “Nicki said shes getting pregnant when shes married so it cant be true,” one non-believer stated.
Another pointed out the fact that many of us had just seen Nicki at the MTV Video Music Awards on Aug. 28, and she definitely didn’t look pregnant there. Nicki even showed off her beautiful figure in a bodysuit on stage with Ariana Grande, 23. “Let’s not act like Nicki Minaj wasn’t just at the #VMAs with no baby bump, and now she looks 6 months pregnant,” another fan chimed in. Good point! But even with this little of the puzzle, it doesn’t explain the new pic circulating social media.
Nicki and Meek aren’t strangers to the rumor mill, and have often been slapped with allegations of a secret wedding or child on the way. They’ve usually denied the claims, but the rumors started swirling again after Meek himself, posted a pic on his Instagram account on Sept. 2, of Nicki showing off a huge baby bump! While super fans immediately flooded his feed with questions and congratulatory comments, it was still a little hard to decipher whether the post was real or fake. And on top of that, Meek posted a cryptic message along with the pic that added to the confusion. “Haters will say it’s#photoshopped,” he captioned the image.
Okay, we are officially confused! But we have to say, something doesn’t seem all the way right with this narrative. We’ll just have to wait for official confirmation from Nicki!
But guess what Nicki Minaj is not pregnant
