32 years after the rape and murder of Colorado teenager , Man is jailed based on DNA evidence

32 years after 16-year-old Holly Marie Andrews' partially nude body was found by cross-country skiers 20 feet off a mountainside road, her murderer has finally been brought to book.

A day before her body was found, the teenager was last seen getting into a stranger’s car after she left her mother’s home in Littleton, Colorado to walk to a friend’s home. This was in 1976.

She had been raped, stabbed in the chest and back several times. Semen was collected from her lifeless body and stored, but the case was not solved due to lack of technological advancement.

Years after her death, a man named, Henry Lee Lucas, confessed to killing Holly, as well as about 3,000 other murders, but Colorado investigators were not convinced about his involvement in the death of the teen girl.

It wasn’t until 2005 when Ricky Lee Harnish, a husband and father, leading a supposedly responsible life was arrested for selling meth and his DNA was taken, that it was discovered that it matched with the sample found on Holly’s body years earlier.

Harnish was finally arrested for the murder of Holly in 2008. He pleaded guilty to the murder of the teenager years ago and negotiated a plea with the prosecutors in exchange for information about the murder. He was sentenced to twenty-four years in prison that year but will be up for parole in 2018 after serving only ten years.
Holly’s father, Jerry Andrews, expressed his displeasure at the possibility of an early release, saying, “Ricky Lee Harnish should die in jail.”

Colombia Plane Crash Was Co-Pilot's First Flight With the Airline

The co-pilot of the plane that crashed Monday night in Colombia and killed 71 people was completing her first flight with LaMia, the Bolivian airline chartered to operate flight 2933, her father said in an emotional interview.
Sisy Arias was trying to build up her flying hours, according to her father, Jorge Arias, a Bolivian journalist.
Jorge Arias said he doesn't blame anyone for the crash but he is upset at the pilot for miscalculating how much gas much has was left on the aircraft and what was needed to land safely. He also said he cannot blame the air traffic controller for making the pilot wait because the controller didn't know the full extent of how low the plane was on fuel.
"Those five minutes cost all of those people their lives," Jorge Arias told reporters, calling the tragedy a "direct flight over there to the sun" and a "flight without a return."
Arias' last words to her father were, "Don't worry. We'll see each other Saturday," Jorge Arias said.
"And Saturday will come, but without her," the grieving father said.

The charter flight was carrying Chapecoense, a Brazilian soccer team on its way from Bolivia to play against Medellin's Atletico Nacional in the finals of the 2016 Copa Sudamericana on Wednesday.
The plane did not have enough of the required reserve fuel needed in case of an emergency, Aerocivil, Colombia's civil aviation authority, announced Wednesday. The plane suffered an electrical failure before the crash, according to the official Twitter account for Jose Maria Cordova International Airport.
Six people survived the crash, including three players, two crew members and a journalist.

NYSC alleged negligence: Sister of the corps member that died at Kano State camp, recounts the final moments

On Tuesday, it was alleged that a female corps member died after being forced to partake in military drills at Kano camp (Read here). It's now been revealed that she didn't partake in the drill. She woke up feeling extremely ill and was taken to a clinic where she was allegedly neglected and not given proper medical care. Identified as Oladepo Ifedolapo, she was a first class graduate of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso. She died same day she fell ill and was buried yesterday in Osogbo at her family’s residence amidst tears...
Her elder sister  has now recounted the late corps member's final moments. According to Oyeyode Abimbola,
"You (Ifedolapo) called me five hour to your death and told me to start coming as the NYSC doctors are not doing any thing for you they thought you were pretending you did not want to go for parade so they did not attend to you. When you started calling people from home, they eventually gave u an injection. Immediately after , You called me again, saying that you noticed a lot of rashes on your body, that I should speak with the doctor who however refused to talk to me.
I called five minutes later and you told me your tongue is twisting. They sent all your friends out after seeng all the reaction on your body due to the unknown injection, You said we should ask for flight and i called immediately. They told me Abuja flight is Mon, Wed &Fri. I told you to tell anybody in the clinic that I'm a nurse, That tey should allow me to speak to them. A male nurse took phone and told me you are having anaphylactic reaction and they will watch you for just one hour before transferring you to Aminu Kano teaching hospital. But alas, they did not,  until 5 hours later when they noticed you are restless and calling people at home.
I boarded a bus going to kano with your sister Kemisola Oladepo, to come pick you from there. I begged them to take you to a teaching hospital around but they took you to General hospital gwazo where they have nothing or little care to render. They took your phone from you claiming you are not resting. From that 5 pm I could not talk to you. I took a 16 hours journey to make sure I get to you, but I was called around 3 am that you gave up, without any doctor in the hospital to assist you. The only nurse on duty told me she tried her best, her best of staying beside you when death was taking you away because there was nothing to use.
From that time till I got to Kano, I was hoping it will only be a mix up somewhere. that it can't be you. I got to Kano and met you at Aminu Kano mortuary. Alas it was you being put in that cold place. Amokkkkkeeeeeeeeee Mi, you couldn't withstand the agony. NYSC successfully cut your destiny due to negligence. REST ON OUR QUEEN. If you are opportuned to come back to the world pls come as my daughter. ADIEU Oladepo Ifedolapo AMOkE MI

Piers Morgan lays into Mariah Carey in new article

It was only a matter of time before the opinionated TV personality dug his claws into Mariah Carey. Here's his piece on her recent separation from James packer and romance with backup dancer, Bryan Tanaka.

Mariah Carey once kept me waiting all day. I can remember it now: every single one of the long, tedious, 12 hours that I was held virtual hostage in my dressing room while Her Majesty played up like a tantrum-prone toddler who’d had her pacifier removed.

She’d been booked to do a two-minute performance on America’s Got Talent, but refused to sing live.
So the judges, including me and Sharon Osbourne, were hauled in on our day off just so she could pre-tape her song.
We arrived at midday.
By 6pm, Mariah still wasn’t ready, so the 2000-strong audience was sent home, and an entirely new one was bused in.
Come midnight, Mariah STILL wasn’t ready.
Sharon and I were by now so furious that we informed the AGT producers we’d had enough and were going home.
Eventually, long after we’d gone, Ms Carey finally appeared on stage and sang to a bunch of stand-in, lookalike judges and a VERY angry audience.
It was quite extraordinarily selfish and rude behaviour, and yet there wasn’t a hint of apology.
What made it even more outrageous was that her then husband, Nick Cannon, was the show’s host! So she kept him waiting all day too.
I’ve thus had bitter, first hand experience of the world’s biggest showbiz diva and it was deeply aggravating.
Conversely, I’ve had also had many other times with Mariah that were good fun.
Not least her baby shower party in a Beverly Hills hotel five years ago, which was held in a giant gift-festooned room that resembled the entire Harrods toy department. (The centre-piece was two life-size fake giraffes…)
There is no denying her wondrous talent either.
Mariah’s a fabulous singer, truly one of the greatest of all time –right up there with Whitney Houston and Barbra Streisand. One of those rare artists who can hit big and soft notes with equal power and quality.
And she’s a smart, beautiful and amusing woman,
But lately, I’ve started to despair about Ms Carey.
First there was the messy, acrimonious split and divorce from Nick, who I know well and is a great guy. They have a set of boy-girl twins together and he, and they, deserved better than having a load of unsubstantiated public mud slung at his reputation from Mariah’s camp.
Then came the often toe-curling and ostentatious relationship with billionaire Australian tycoon James Packer that blew up in flames a few months ago - amid rumours of her close relationship with a back-up dancer.
Details of the couple’s pre-nuptial negotiations leaked out after the engagement was called off.
It made for deeply unedifying reading.
Mariah Carey is one of the wealthiest, most successful entertainers in the world.
Yet there she was, actively negotiating through her lawyers over how many millions of dollars she might get if the marriage ended.
Last week, further reports emanated that Mariah is now angling for a $50 million ‘inconvenience fee’ settlement from Packer because she had to briefly relocate to Los Angeles.
Are you bloody kidding me???
Where’s your pride, lady?
You’re worth a reputed $500 million, you don’t need a cent of any man’s money.
Nothing, though, quite prepared me for the horror this morning of Mariah’s staged photo-call in the Hawaii ocean with her new boy-toy, the aforementioned back-up dancer, Bryan Tanaka.
I didn’t think any set of choreographed, water-based celebrity photos could ever be more embarrassing than those of Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston earlier this year.
I was wrong.
This was on a whole new level of cringe.
Mariah and back-up dancer Bryan - who at 33 is 13 years her junior -cavorted in skimpy swimsuits like a pair of love-struck teens.
Each image struck a new mind-boggling low of excruciation.
Mariah jumping on his back, sliding under his legs, being carried through the waves… and generally pawing her young lover like an over-excited Labrador in heat.
At one stage, Mariah even suffered an ‘accidental’ nip-slip wardrobe malfunction.
It was obviously all a very deliberate, very public two fingers to James Packer.
It was also an act of utter desperation by a once very classy chanteuse who is now rapidly morphing into Norma Desmond, the fading star of Sunset Boulevard.
By an astonishing coincidence, Mariah’s new reality TV show, Mariah’s World, starts this Sunday night on E.
So this shocking beach photo-stunt was all clearly staged to promote that as well as tick off her ex-fiancé.
Yet why the hell is she doing a reality show at all?
She’s Mariah Carey for goodness sake, not a talentless Kardashian.
There’s something really sad about her increasingly tacky, tasteless and unsavoury antics, especially for all those of us who love her voice.
I can say nothing more devastatingly damning than that it is bordering on Madonna-esque.
And as with Madonna, the only real victims apart from her dignity and reputation, are likely to be her children.
This is the time of year when the whole world hears and sings Mariah’s anthem, All I Want For Christmas Is You – theme tune to the smash hit festive movie Love Actually.
So let me borrow a verse from that classic yuletide song to make a personal plea.
‘I don’t want a lot for Christmas.
There is just one thing I need.
All I want for Christmas is you… to grow up, Mariah.’

Kendall Jenner had extra security while in Paris for the Victoria's Secret show following Kim's robbery ordeal

Looks like members of the Kardashian clan are still shaken up following the robbery attack on Kim K in Paris. A source who spoke to PageSix.com said Kendall who walked the runway for Victoria's Secret in Paris went everywhere with extra security. The source told the gossip site that the model and reality star had 'special handlers' and additional security and and 'wanted nothing to do with anyone' except close pal Gigi Hadid.
'She had a special handler the whole time when other girls didn’t'. She arrived at the after-party with private security, even though the police were there.'

Security at the party was so tight that multi-millionaire, Mohammed Hadid, who is father to Gigi and Bella Hadid, couldn't get in. He only got in after a publicist came to his rescue to explain his daughters were inside the party.

Sources claimed that Kendall blanked even members of the press.
She 'wouldn’t do press interviews and was actually hiding at one point. One reporter asked her a question and she literally ignored her. She just kept looking at pictures of herself on her phone.'

PHOTO - Mother jealous of her son's dimple, pays £1,300 to drill holes into her cheeks

Mother and beauty blogger, AJ Weir, 44, from Lutton in Lincolnshire who was desperate to have dimples, spent £1,300 to have holes cut in her cheeks.

Aj went under the knife in September despite warnings from her family friends, and had chunks of flesh cut out from inside of her cheeks and then stitched up in order to give her a dimple effect.

According to Aj, dimples are something she has wanted for a really long time and has watched her friends with dimples get their way because of their endearing facial features.
'If somebody has dimples, I will try to stick my finger in their face. It's really weird, but I just love them. I see them as a sign of being cute.'
The beauty blogger had her boobs done before she decided she wanted a dimple just like her 11 year-old son.

Bearing in mind the risk of messing up her face and the possibility that the procedure may not work, Aj went ahead and cut up her face.
"I knew there were risks associated, because it was my face. Sometimes the skin doesn't adhere and the dimple will be there to start with, but after a few months, it will disappear. There was a risk you could go through it and end up with nothing. For a lot of people this seems like a really stupid cosmetic procedure and it seems insane to start messing about with your own face. Some people say you should just be happy with what you've got and I get that but this was something I wanted to do.' I could afford to do it and I wasn't going to put my family in any sort of financial crisis by doing it, so why not?"
